Longmont Colorado Culture

The Mexican Cultural Center and Colorado Symphony are pleased to present a unique, free community concert celebrating Latin American culture, influence and sound. A preliminary concert with local mariachi folklorico talents, live music by local musicians and a performance by the Denver Symphony Orchestra.

The Longmont Museum, which opened in 2002 south of downtown, is one of the oldest and largest museums in the state of Colorado and the largest museum in Colorado. The Longmonks Museum, with exhibits of history, science and art, is definitely worth a visit during your stay in the city. While there, you can enjoy the unique collection of art and artifacts created by members of the Denver community, as well as a variety of local and national exhibits.

Longmont has developed a thriving craft beer industry, founded by Left Hand Brewery and Oskar Blues. Longmont is home to one of the largest breweries in the state of Colorado and the second largest craft brewery in Colorado, supporting the thriving craft brewing industry. The COVenture Forward program, which expands cultural nonprofits to more than 1,000 artists, writers, musicians and artists from across the country.

Longmont is connected to Fort Collins, Loveland and Berthoud by RTD's regional FLEX bus and is served by buses to Colorado State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Public art and courtyards add to the small-town charm that sets Longmont apart from other cities. Residents enjoy living in the bustle of Denver without having to pay the high real estate prices of Boulder. Many of its annual downtown events include concerts, festivals, parades galore and other special events, such as the annual Colorado State Fair. Public concerts and planned performances by local musicians, artists, musicians and artists from all over the world contribute to an urban atmosphere.

You want to live, you will find yourself in Longmont, where all the streets converge, and you will find tables, barbecues and picnics for your family on every table, barbecue or picnic, making it a great place to sit back and relax while exploring the Rocky Mountains. The extensive bike paths, bike paths, hiking trails and trails are all opportunities to enjoy nature in and around Longmonks.

Longs Peak is the eponym of the city of Longmont, which was founded in 1853 by members of the colony Chicago - Colorado and named after the prominent Longs Peaks in the west. The city began to flourish as an agricultural community after the construction of a Colorado Central Railroad from Boulder led northward around 1877.

Roosevelt Park in downtown Longmont features a playground, senior center and pavilions where concerts and events are held. State Highway 119 between Boulder and Longmont was paved and straightened in the late 1990s, allowing more Longmont residents to commute. One recreational business LongMont calls home is Mile Skydiving, which is one of Colorado's largest skydiving companies and the second largest in North America. Hodges now spends his days hiking in Boulder County and sports events such as mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skiing and snowmobiling.

The Longmont Museum and Cultural Center is the cultural center of the city with changing exhibits of history, art and science.
