Twin Peaks Charter Academy Reviews

I love TPCA. I have two boys and they are doing better now then when they were in public school.

TPCA is an amazing school. Even though there aren't extracurricular activities, the bond between students and teachers is outstanding. I went to TPCA from K-8, i have grown to be an outstanding student, and I learned so much while I was there. The classes are fit for everyone, and you cant understand what is going on because of the wonderful teachers. I wish I could go back.

TPCA is a wonderful school!! We have been extremely pleased with each of our children's teachers and the school as a whole. This school definitely keeps our children challenged and happy. My husband and I would definitely recommend this school to others!

This is my son's first year at TPCA and I am so thankful that we found such a wonderful school for our son. I have to say that this has been the best year ever for him! He used to hate going to school, disliked the classes, etc. but at TPCA we have seen a complete turnaround. I highly recommend this school to any family looking for a positive, challenging atmosphere for your son or daughter!

TPCA is a wonderful school! I have two kids that attend TPCA (elementary and MS). Yes, this school is very challenging, but I have found that they have teachers that will bend over backwards in order to make sure that your child gets it before they move on. The extracurriculars are also perfect for any child. My younger child is in Chess club, elementary band, and is taking part in there upcoming school play. My older child plays in the jazz band, played on the school basketball team, and has attended all the MS events(swimming party, roller skating, dances, etc.). I would and have recommended this school to others. Our family is quite excited that they are adding a HS to TPCA so that are children can keep going to the best school in St Vrain Valley!

There is too much homework at this school and probably why their extracurricular activies are so limited.

My kids love this school! The teachers are wonderful and challenging, the band program is phenomenal, and the new building got a 'Wow' out of myself and my husband the first time we walked in it. So happy we chose this school for our children!

What a wonderful school! Academically superb with great teachers, a beautiful campus, and many extra curriculars for my two kids. I'm glad our friends recommended this school to our family.

My child went to TPCA for four years. She was never challenged to reach her potential and although she loved most of her teachers, she was bored. I think this school is a better than average school, but does not have a good program in place for elementary students who are exceptionally bright. They have high expectations for the average student and do their best to help those who are struggling, but they could do a lot better!

So far this is a good school, dresscode is a good feature. My child was in Kindergarten this year and the teacher was par excellence. Info regarding the class activities and school in general is very clear and regular. Since school is moving to new location, I am expecting better approach in extra curricular activities. I would recommend this school for sure.

This is a great school. Our teachers are wonderful. I am a happy parent and I volunteer my time at school to give back to this wonderful school. I love the uniform/dress code. It simplifies both the students and parents'lives and puts the stress on learning. This is a place where it is OK to achieve academically and a student is not made fun of for excelling in school. He/she is rewarded in Monday assemblies for academic achievements. I am also excited about the school's plan to move to a new location and hopefully expand.

This is the first year that my child has gone to this school , and at first I thought it was great, my son is reading alot better. The ammount of work they have to do is overwhelming even for me.

I attended TPCA for four years, and I highly recommend it to other people. The students are really able to get to know their teachers and vice versa, which allowed me to learn better. My English and Math teachers always made time to help me when I didn't understand something or to conference with my parents after school. TPCA helped me to get a head start in high school over other students who attended public school. Now that I am in high school, I also see the advantages of the dress code. It simplifies your morning routine and prevents students from wearing offensive or embarrassing clothes. Overall, I think TPCA has a great atmosphere for learning.

I am elated with the quality of education my children are receiving at TPCA. The curriculum is challenging and the grading scale difficult, but my children have risen to the standards. I'm so grateful that character education is taught along with academics! I applaud TPCA's teachers as they are passionate about teaching and encourage the kids to love lifelong learning! When my kids were in our local school (which has high CSAP scores), they were forced into independent learning. My son was punished for being bright and had to wait for other kids to catch up...UGH! Thank you TPCA for helping my children reach their highest potential!

Academically this place is average at best. Parents who want to give total responsibility for raising their kids to someone else will love this place.

Twin Peaks Academy is an outstanding school. The academic program is unbelievable. Mrs. Adams in kindergarten is a 'magician', in my opinion. She teaches every child, even ones with learning diability, to love school and to do his/her best. I am transfering all my kids to this school next year. I observed how this school is academically more advanced than a private school in Boulder that costs 10K/year. I am going to pay back to this amazing school with all I can as an involved parent next year.

Twin Peaks sets high standards for learning and behavior. To correct a previous review: the dress code was revised for 2006-2007 year and there is a wide variety of uniform style clothes. The polo shirts are powder blue, navy, red, burgundy, white or hunter green. It is more of a dress code then a uniform code. Keeps the focus on learning in the classroom (no distractions). Mr. Fluke is a very accessible principal and parents are expected to contribute time to help. The school has its own Board of Directors that are mainly parents of the student body. The school strives for students to achieve, believe and succeed! Sadly, the St. Vrain District Board has given TPCA 3 more years in this old building so they can put up District offices in it---quite a waste of auditorium and gymnasium space!! Arrangements for a new location in 2009 will be planned.

Academic program is excellent and teachers are great. Parent volunteers take a A plus. Mrs. Stengel in First grade is having a great part in my kid's life. I can see the improvement and I appreciate the encouragement they give to the kids. Wish they have little more extracurricular activities. Great school.

I think that the teachers are excellent at this school. However the dress code is becoming way to strict next year(who puts their kids in white shirts everyday they are going to get stained). They don't really provide a whole lot of extracurricular activities.

Twin Peaks Charter has provided our children with an excellent education. We drive 24 miles each day in order to attend Twin Peaks, and it's worth every mile! The full day kindergarten program is wonderful. The teachers and staff are very committed and caring. I give Twin Peaks my highest rating!

My kids have been in two [other] Longmont public schools and one Christian School. There is no comparison. TPCA is the best school in Longmont. I wish I would have gotten my kids in sooner.
