I am a 20-something anachronism currently living in the beautiful Capitol Hill neighbourhood of Denver, Colorado. 3-14-09: I figured it was time for an update. So much has changed since I moved to Colorado in Oct 07. The reason I thought I had moved out here was, in fact, not the real reason - unbeknownst to me. So now I am opening up to new possibilities. I enjoy the environment - not a huge fan of cold weather - but I am persevering and thoroughly enjoying the full experience that life is bringing me. Challenges and all.

I am an accountant - by thirteen years of "been there done that" - and now I am seeking to really focus on social media and social networking (so this site is even a bit of research for me). I enjoy utilizing the internet tools in new and amazing ways to brand and market a business idea, groups of people, or products/projects.

In addition to work... I also love to be outdoors, the mountains here are amazing... I'm still awe-struck by them. Photography is a hobby of mine, so I have plenty to shoot around this lovely area! I do like to go hiking (although, still getting used to this altitude - need. oxygen. to. move.) and I like exploring the communities that surround me. I'm a bit of a social butterfly while being a bit of a recluse at times, too.

I love reading books; I go through periods of tons of reading ... but then also periods of books just stacking up in the "to be read" pile! :) I enjoy getting to be "out on the town", be it shopping, clubs, community events, what have you ... but, like I eluded to earlier - I love the serenity of solitude time as well.

Good fortune happens. I have a great job, live in a beautiful place surrounded by open space and am psyched to know that 2009 is going to be 100 percent better in every way than 2008. I'll give this a shot, but I'm not sure how it'll sound.(Kind of like someone asking if your goodlooking-I dont know, I guess I'm at least average.) I try to spend at least part of the weekend doing something
outside. In the summer I try to camp/backpack half the weekends; winter I snowshoe, etc.
I've been divorced 11 years and haven't found the right the woman. Thought I'd try this. I have 2 grownup kids. My son lives with me while he's finishing his degree and my daughter is on her own.
I try to keep in decent shape(3-4 times/week in the gym) and have been told I look much younger than I am.
I'm open-minded and believe honesty is important in a relationship. If you have something to tell me just do it. Maybe we could discuss it and work it out. Dishonesty is unhealthy. Lifes too short not to have fun, and friends, and trying new things. You never know until you try something. That's all I can think of for now. (How'd I do?)

I grew up around the world and then settled, post college, in the DC area, the whole time thinking "Man, I really do not care for the DC area." So when about a year and a half ago the chance to move out to Colorado came around I listened to my inner Village Persona and headed west. I've been here about a year now, and while I don't think I'm any sort of exemplar of the super neo-hippie lifestyle (primary example being I really don't like bikes because I fail at them) that seems prevalent, I still love seeing the mountains every day. Plus I'm a terrible liberal so I find living in a bubble delightful.

By nature I tend to enjoy the indoor arts; movies, reading, games, focused drinking, shows, museums, but I also am game to actually going outside and hiking and such. I also try to always have some kind of exercise class going on so that when people poke me about my indoor ways I can be all self righteous and stuff. Oh and because I love to exercise. It is in no way horrible.

Finally, I'm a total nerd. I like comics, I was a CS major in college, I have read more crappy books with dragons on the cover then I'd like to admit. I'm a solo-nerd at this point of my life though as all my geek friends have flitted off around the world, so that aspect of my personality usually isn't something people pick up on, though it would be nice to meet someone who's read 100 Bullets.

I was born in Dearborn, Michigan! Yeah, you car freaks! Eat your heart out! I got to go to those beloved car shows at Cobo Hall every fall back in the day (did not appreciate it in my youth!) when families bought a new car every 3 years - can you IMAGINE???!! AND I remember some fun Christmas tours at the Rotundra! (Google It!). Michigan was a GREAT place to grow up. I moved to Colorado in 1976, the Centennial of Colorado and, of course, our BiCentennial of the US. Exciting times! I LOVE it here! I enjoy the 4 seasons but a milder weather version then we had in the SW Detroit area.

I am a very casual person in dress. But I do like to pay attention to what matters...to me. I prefer home cooking and picnics to restaurants. I like to hike on the paths of the foothills and plains and the streets of Denver, especially during festivals. I enjoy town AND country adventures! i LOVE Colorado history and museums are a hoot! I did a bit of historical re-enacting with the mountain man rendezvous. I love the smell of canvas. I still have my "squeepee" haha (hunter's tent - looks like a square teepee!!). I guess I am more of a car camper but I would prefer that to a motel!

I am a mother of 4, I have 2 sons and 2 daughters all under the age of 11. I am divorced from their father. I love to go to concerts and just have a good time. I spend a lot of my free time with my little sister, she is 22. She is my concert buddy lol needless to say we are really close.

This is just what I happened to think of when I wrote this and by no
means is complete, in fact far from it, but I thought it would be fun to write from my more primitive side first.

I love the outdoors. I enjoy camping, mushroom hunting, horseback rides, fishing, hot springs, etc. When I travel I tend to plan my routes to visit natural hot springs(as in still totally wild and free.) I have some strange hobbies as well. I'm into ethnobotanical studies and herbal medicine. I study mycology and know/harvest/eat most of the local gourmet mushrooms. Primitive technologies are another hobby i.e.: flint knapping, bowyering, twine making, etc.

Now from the less primitive side. I love to travel foreign countries or even my own state. Like good music? Me too... all kinds of music so let's go see some shows or festivals. I love good food and drink and have worked with executive chefs from 5 star restaurants. I'm also known to splurge on a very nice dinner out once in a while. Yes I am a computer nerd but somebody has to be and I keep up with the latest technologies. I keep up with alternative energy technologies. I may not be the life of the party but I am very social(don't think social butterfly... think social intellectual). I like to go out to play pool or go to a bar for live music with friends. I like all kinds of animals and have two cats...I used to live in a zoo{not a real zoo} with tons of pets... dogs, cats, horses, fish, corals, lizards, frogs, birds. Nothing bores me more than watching sports. I refuse to waste my time with it. I enjoy museums, concerts, theatre, sushi, etc. Of course curling up on the couch with a good movie or in front of a fire is very appealing as well.

When it comes to relationships I listen well. Life is short... love it! I'm a big fan of the independent type but that are capable of having a deep relationship. I like free thinkers that aren't bottle fed by the media. I like intelligent conversation. If it isn't enjoyable to explore new ground in most aspects of life I might drive you nuts.

I practice meditation daily. I hope to not impose my beliefs on others; however, a couple that can meditate together at times or on a regular basis would seem to have a very special relationship. I would consider it awesome to share that with you.

I'm going to school (college) right now and working in a warehouse full time. I enjoy being active and outdoors. Making people laugh and laughing myself. I like hanging out with people who are grounded and are within the relm of reality. No crazy space alien's with two heads please. :) So if you want to have a good time, laugh, and have see if I can make milk come out of your nose then look me up. (I know that last part sounds gross, but it is funny)

I am a single father who has his son alot of the time. spend alot time of taking care of him which I really enjoy. the rest of time working at a career that i really enjoy. and the rest of the time having fun. I love to go rock climbing i do it a lot usually a few times a week it really gets my mind off things and its all around fun, hiking but this is not my favorite its usually hard work lol rock climbing is easier for some reason ha, campingis great i dont get to do it much but i love it i love being out in the wild with the elements and a nice big fire to sit around and cuddle by, ride my dirt bikei have been riding since i was about 10 years old i love it. i started out on four wheelers but i switched to dirtbikes around 15 years old its fun but i kinda miss the fourwheeler its fun in a differnt more safe way lol. but i also love to just sit at home with family and friends and have a good time. i love to watch movies. I can be reserved but when i get to know you good im quite talkative. I try hard on everything i attempt and pride myself in that fact. Really I have to do this again, whatever. My self summary is one that is complicated yet interesting to hear, I think. I am a full on outdoor junkie. I live to play outdoors, I am currently a whitewater rafting guide, I love wakeboarding, and love going to new places and seeing all the flora and fauna. My job has allowed me to go lots of places most riff raff only can see in pictures and read about while on the toilet. I live in Longmont and am the assistant manager of a horrible convenience store, but it's nearby, pretty chill, and i like most of the people that come through. I have some college under my belt but right now I'm not sure if I want to continue down that road. I'm pretty stoked on alternative energy and thinking of dipping my toe in that pool. Although it's hard to describe oneself, I'm often called the "voice of reason" and "the romantic" within my circle of friends. Which I think is saying a lot because while I don't have a lot of friends, I have a number of really GOOD friends.

I'm a pretty mellow guy. I like to do all sorts of things. I especially love the experience of doing new things. I enjoy movies, theater shows downtown, spending time with friends, camping, wandering... the list goes on. Not really big on the clubbing scene, but I'll go out and enjoy just hanging out with everyone. I can also enjoy spending time alone to gather my thoughts and rest up.

Well lets see here, I was just discharged from military service about 2 months ago, (I did 5 years in the Navy on Submarines) so I am still trying to adapt to civilian life. I just enrolled at CSU to obtain my bachelors degree in Physics.

There are many interests and hobbies I have ranging from reading (huge book worm), to RC Airplanes, Guns, Cars and everything in between. There are very few things I don't like to do or would not mind trying at least once.

I am also trying to meet people. Anybody really. I have spent five years away and most of my old friends have moved away. So I'm mostly trying to meet new people who share my interests and enjoy life to its fullest!

I'm 30, 5'1", and slender. I have long brown hair and hazel eyes with glasses. I'm the quiet one with the book or laptop, by herself.

Don't let it fool you. Once I get to know you, I am sharp and sarcastic, with dry humour and a mischievous gleam in my eyes. I'm famously blunt about my opinions. I'm the opposite of what most people think of the geeky little girl who doesn't talk much.

I like to dance, listen to my music way too loud, and watch poor quality B movies that I can narrate. I love long drives through the mountains where I can get lost and find my way back home. I enjoy hiking, fishing, ridin my horse, writing, and hunting.
